I am in agreement with the Feb. 10 letter written by Terry Green in regard to the NASCAR track (“NASCAR: Track would upset quality of life”).
I moved into the area a little over a year ago, but have lived around here all my life and if everyone thinks the traffic is bad around Smokey Point now, it is nothing like it will be if this track is allowed to be built.
I would like to know where all the environmental and save-our-land groups stand on this. If a person wants to build a shack on his property, they are all out protesting it, but there has not been anything said about something that would take up to 500 acres, cause a lot of noise and take away the open space.
I doubt if anyone from the county, City of Marysville, or the City of Arlington live in the area proposed for the track. If they did, they might not be so quick to jump on the bandwagon to have this go in. All they seem to look at is the dollars that this would generate and not how it would affect peoples’ lives.
If Terry Green or anyone else needs help holding up a protest sign in resistance to this, I will be more than glad to help.
