I want to share with Herald readers the following poem:
The Key
I hold in my hand the key to the world
It will always be with me
The key is a magnificent swirl of emerald, sapphire, and diamond
There is no other key like it
It can never be broken
It is a sign of peace
The key keeps earth alive
Our son wrote this 19 year ago in third grade.
It feels like many of us have forgotten about our children. The dreams they have, the hopes they have and the poor demonstration they have had watching our country be broken, and divided piece by piece.
The key you see, is WE! WE are all in this together!
United we stand, divided we fall! Let’s stand tall again for the United States of America, for the world and most of all, for our children, who are the future of our country and our world!
We have to make them proud!
