Another mass shooting; another day in America. We will hear the politicians spout their standard “our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims” and then nothing will change. The mass shootings will continue. Gun sales will continue as gun owners will decide that it is better to have three guns in their homes than just two. The NRA will continue to claim that the only solution is to allow more guns in schools. And more and more children and adults will continue to be sacrificed at the altar of the ever-present Gun God.
This needless waste of human life will continue until every pro-gun politician, judge, lobbyist and NRA member loses a loved one to gun violence. Maybe then, and only then, this country will be ready for comprehensive gun control. It is a sad commentary on us as Americans and our priorities and morals.
