I am responding to the Feb. 11 letter, “Language change is Orwellian”: The writer’s confusing rhetoric covers everything from accusing conservatives of demonizing liberal pundits, blocking minority human rights and throwing the poor, sick and aged out on the streets to starve or die from exposure to balance the budget. I would ask when was the last time any of you have seen people dying in the streets of America except maybe Chicago from gunshot wounds? I would further ask, balance what budget? Obama and the senate have yet to submit or approve a budget for over four years. The writer clearly doesn’t like conservatives or the words they use and accuses them of changing such words for the worse to fit their objectives. He also accuses them of destroying our national character, whatever that means. This column space is not large enough to adequately express all that needs to be said so I will end this letter with this statement: “What a bunch of gobbledygook.”
