Where’s program for older workers?

There has been so much in the news about how there are many new and different programs that are going to help the unemployed — especially the recently unemployed. I’ve been unemployed for over 1-1/2 years. I do not receive unemployment. I look and look for work. I apply for several positions in the office/administrative field for which I have over 36 years of experience. I go to interviews — they seem to go well. But, I don’t get the job. Why? Is it because I’m over the age of 55 and not young and beautiful?

When are these programs going to help me?
