Why do we keep bringing them?

In response to the Monday article “Economy crushes refugees’ hopes of jobs”: Welcome to America, Iraq refugees. No jobs for you and only $359 a month per single adult — given to you, I might add, by the generosity of the American taxpayer. If there are five adults in that family, that equates to $1,795 a month. My wife and I survive on about that amount each month on Social Security, and we have a house payment and insurance to pay on two cars and all utilities.

My question is why do we keep bringing refugees here from anywhere? There aren’t enough jobs to take care of all the Americans already here. While Americans are losing their homes and livelihoods, our government keeps bringing refugees here. They tell me their lives are in danger in Iraq. Well, so are the lives of our servicemen. How many more lives do we have to lose before the people of Iraq learn to stand up for themselves? I only wish that President Obama would do what he promised and get us out of Iraq. They don’t seem to appreciate what we tried to do for them. I for one am sick and tired of supporting refugees and illegals. It’s time to take back our country.
