I have finally figured out who the Washington state legislators represent. It’s not the voters, as the voters want the schools funded. It’s not the Constitution, as they refuse to abide by it. It’s not the Supreme Court, as they ignore orders from them. So who does the Legislature represent? Newspaper editors. Each and every one of them. It must be true as there is no headline saying “Legislature refuses to do their job.” Or “Washington lawmakers are above the law and to hell with their constituents.” There should be a headline in every paper in the state every day until the schools are funded. A mudslide made the headlines every day for months. Why don’t taxpayer-paid criminals? Why aren’t they arrested? Why aren’t they fired? I’m thinking it’s high time for a class-action lawsuit.
