Why not allow a re-vote?

I am disgusted with the way this election fiasco is being handled by the George W. Bush camp. In my opinion it would be in Mr. Bush’s best interest to allow a re-vote in Palm Beach. In fact he should insist on it.

In a vote this close and with the outcome hinging on one state where his brother is governor, and considering that Vice President Gore won the popular vote, Bush cannot want the public to think that the election was unfair in anyway! Not if he wants the public to unite behind him.

I personally think there is something fishy in Florida and I know I am not alone in that opinion. If Bush thinks he won fair and square, why is he so worried about allowing a re-vote in Palm Beach County? I think that if he does not allow it, he will assume a presidency clouded by mistrust and suspicion and rightfully so. I know I would find it very difficult to unite behind someone I did not trust.
