Regarding “sexy” espresso stands:
Are all these people nuts? A friend of my family worked, past tense, at a stand in Monroe where she dressed modestly. I say worked because after a few occurrences by a patron/pervert watching the girls from across the lot, and touching himself, after several requests to the management for cameras, and a lack of catching a decent glimpse of a plate number, our friend did the only sane thing: she quit.
If all these businesses think that being robbed is a real life concern, they should also think about the possibility of one of their staff being sexually assaulted, if not worse. In today’s society it appears that sex sells, but it also brings a lower level of human behavior that we don’t want in our neighborhoods, let alone loose in our society.
We now have one of those “sex sells” stands in our fine city and it’s not a matter of if, but when, this stand has an incident that will require our local law enforcement to act. These owners, along with those of all the other stands, need to be proactive rather than reactive in the event an incident does happen. Dress up your stands with lights, cameras and clothing, and hopefully no one gets hurt or worse.
Smell your own coffee brewing, folks. This is real and could happen to you.
