The Wednesday letter, “Blocking reform hurts all of us,” highlights the problem with understanding the health care reform debate. If the letter writer can’t take the time to grasp the basics of our government at work, then how can an informed opinion be put forth?
The Democrats hold a substantial majority in both houses of Congress, which means the Republicans don’t have the ability to prevent health care reform. The reason for the delay in passing health care reform is due solely to those Democrats who know that as soon as they vote for this travesty, they will themselves be part of the nearly 10 percent of Americans looking for work.
