Jackson junior Brett Kingma, who averaged 21 points over four games to lead Jackson to a second-place finish, was named to the Class 4A all-tournament first team. Josh Smith, who led Kentwood past Jackson in the title game, was the tournament’s MVP. Federal Way’s Isiah Umipig, Walla Walla’s Gary Winston and Gonzaga Prep’s Ryan Nicholas rounded out the first team.
Stanwood senior Kale Schmidt, who scored 39 points in win over Auburn Friday, was the top vote getter on the second team. Also on the second team were Federal Way’s Cole Dickerson, Wilson’s Mikey Hope, Eastlake’s Michael Russo and Mead’s Aaron Dunn.
The girls MVP was Mercedes Wetmore of Auburn Riverside. The first team included Whitmore and Kat Cooper of Auburn Riverside, Jazmine Redmon of Mead, Jordan Loera of Moses Lake, and Mikaela Rivard of Chiawana.
The second team was Sarah Hartwell of Bellarmine Prep, Liz Mills and Kylie Huerta of Kentwood, Shaunice Robinson of Garfield, and Taylor Ingebritsen of Mead.
