DETROIT — Racing greats Michael Andretti and Buddy Baker are two of seven legends of motorized sports being inducted into the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America.
The induction ceremony was Wednesday night in Detroit.
Andretti was a highly successful open-wheel race driver and ranks third on the all-time Champ Car win list, trailing A.J. Foyt and his father, Mario Andretti.
Baker won 19 career NASCAR races and in 1970 was the first driver to break 200 miles per hour at the Talladega Speedway in Alabama. His father Buck Baker is a member.
Other 2008 inductees include drag-race champion John Force, the late sports-car racer Richie Ginther, motorcyclist Wayne Rainey, multi-sport champion Paul Goldsmith and pilot Betty Skelton.
