PASCO — Jetsey Extrano’s two-run triple in the top of the 12th inning broke a 2-2 tie and helped lift the Everett AquaSox to a 5-4 Northwest League victory over Tri-City on Sunday night.
With the scored tied 2-2, Everett’s Marcus Littlewood led off the top of 12th with a walk. Jorge Agudelo bunted Littlewood to second and Mario Yepez walked. Extrano then tripled to right field and later scored on a two-out single by Michael Dowd.
Tri-City, which had tied the game 2-2 with a run in the bottom of the ninth, scored twice in the bottom of the 12th off relief pitcher Jeroen de Haas. But de Haas struck out pinch-hitter Blake McDade with the tying run on second to end the game and collect his first save of the season.
Everett’s Matt Bischoff (1-0), who pitched two innings of scoreless relief, earned the victory.
Everett scored twice in the third inning to wipe out a 1-0 Tri-City lead. Jarrett Burgess hit a solo homer, his first of the season, and Littlewood added a run-scoring double.
That lead held up until the ninth, when Jordan Ribera’s two-out RBI single sent the game into extra innings.
Pitcher Jose Campos started for the AquaSox and pitched well, allowing just one run and two hits in six innings.
The Sox have won two of the first three games in the season-opening five-game series. Game 4 is tonight, with the first pitch scheduled for 7:15.
Everett’s home opener is Wednesday.
