EUGENE — The Eugene Emeralds scored four runs in the second inning and earned a 6-3 win over the Everett AquaSox on Saturday.
Hunter Bishop delivered the big blow in the key inning, launching a three-run home run to give the Emeralds a 4-2 lead.
The AquaSox jumped out to an early advantage on a solo home run from Andy Thomas in the top of the first inning.
Cole Barr hit a run-scoring single in the second as Everett extended its lead to 2-0.
Bishop added a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fourth for his fourth RBI of the game and gave Eugene a 5-2 lead.
Thomas hit his second home run of the game in the top of the sixth to cut the AquaSox’s deficit to 5-3, but they couldn’t get any closer.
Jimmy Joyce started for Everett (35-38) and allowed five runs on five hits in 4.2 innings of work. Joyce struck out five and walked four.
Casey Schmitt added a solo home run for Eugene (43-28) in the bottom of the seventh.
