PASCO — Seattle Mariners top prospect Harry Ford continued his hot streak with another pair of hits, but the Everett AquaSox fell to the Tri-City Dust Devils 5-3 in the opener of a six-game road series on Tuesday night.
Ford, the reigning Northwest League Player of the Week, went 2-for-5 with a double, an RBI, a run scored and threw out a runner from behind the plate in the game.
Adrian Placenia hit a run-scoring double and Arol Vera added a two-run double for the Dust Devils in a three-run third inning that gave them a 3-1 lead they would not relinquish.
Tyler Locklear and Walking Cabrera each drove in a run, and Reid VanScoter struck out five and allowed three runs on six hits in five innings for Everett (61-54, 27-22 second half).
Cam Williams went 3-for-4 with a home run for Tri-City (52-61, 18-29).
