PASCO — James Parker hit a ball that Tri-City Dust Devils second baseman Jose Guzman couldn’t handle in the ninth inning, allowing Alberto Rodriguez and Dariel Gomez to score, and the Everett AquaSox edged the Tri-City Dust Devils 3-1 on Sunday at Gesa Stadium.
Gomez hit a solo home run to left-center in the fifth to put Everett (43-43) up 1-0.
Steven Rivas’ RBI single pulled Tri-City (37-47) even in the seventh.
AquaSox starter Prelander Berroa struck out five batters over four scoreless innings, allowing only one walk and no hits. Peyton Alford (3-0) struck out two in a scoreless eighth and Max Roberts worked a clean ninth for his first save. Everett pitchers combined to allow just two hits.
Dust Devils starter Brent Killam allowed one run on two hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out seven. Hayden Seig (3-1) took the loss after allowing two unearned runs in one inning.
