VANCOUVER, B.C. — The Everett AquaSox overcame six errors — two in the bottom of the ninth inning — to edge the Vancouver Canadians 4-3 Friday in the Northwest League baseball game.

Everett (16-8 second half, 32-30 overall) took a one-run lead in the eighth inning then hung on in the ninth for its sixth win in seven games.

Marcus Littlewood led off the eighth with a triple and scored on a single by Nathan Melendres. Mario Yepez sent Melendres to second with a sacrifice bunt. Melendres took third on a groundout and scored the go-ahead run on a single by Ramon Morla.

In the ninth, two Everett throwing errors resulted in runners at second and third with two outs. But reliever Tim Griffin retired Nicholas Baligod on a grounder to third to notch his fifth save.

He preserved a win for fellow reliever Nolan Diaz (2-3).

The Canadians had gone ahead by a run in the seventh thanks to an Everett error.

After reaching on the miscue, Chris Schaeffer advanced to second when Jonathan Berti was hit by a pitch. Both runners moved up on a sacrifice bunt and Schaeffer scored on a groundout.

Vancouver took a 2-0 lead after five innings.

In the third, Berti singled, went to second on a fielder’s choice, stole third and scored on a throwing eror by catcher Larry Gonzalez.

In the fifth, Berti singled, stole second and scored on a single by Baligod.

Everett tied the score in the sixth.

Jorge Agudelo greeted reliever Blake McFarland (5-6) with a double and went to third on a single by Littlewood. Agudelo scored on a bunt single by Melendres. McFarland had a throwing error on the play, allowing Littlewood to reach third. Littlewood then scored on a wild pitch.
