EVERETT — Alberto Rodriguez hit a game-tying RBI double and scored what proved to be the winning run on a groundout as the Everett AquaSox rallied with two runs in the bottom of the eighth inning and held on to beat the Vancouver Canadians 4-3 in a rare weekday day game on Thursday at Funko Field.

Harry Ford led off the key inning with a single before scoring the tying run on Rodriguez’s double. Tyler Locklear followed with a single as Rodriguez advanced to third. Blake Rambusch then grounded into a force out, but Rodriguez scored what proved to be the winning run.

Ford, Rodriguez and Locklear all finished the game 2-for-4, and Randy Bednar doubled and drove in a run for the AquaSox.

Juan Mercedes started on the mound for Everett (5-6) and allowed three runs on six hits while striking out eight in five innings pitched.

Former Everett pitcher Adam Macko started for Vancouver (5-3) and struck out seven an allowed two runs on four hits in four innings of work.
