EUGENE — The Everett AquaSox broke open a scoreless game with four runs in the sixth innings and shut out the Eugene Emeralds, 6-0, on Tuesday night for their fifth win in the past six games.
Tyler Locklear had an RBI single, Walking Cabrera followed with a two-run single and Mike Salvatore added a run-scoring triple in the key sixth inning for Everett.
The AquaSox added two insurance runs in the ninth on RBI doubles from Harry Ford and Locklear.
Locklear and Ford both finished with three hits, and Cole Young, Hogan Windish and Blake Rambusch each added two hits in the game.
Brandon Schaeffer started on the mound for Everett (55-48, 21-16 second half) and allowed no runs on six hits over six strong innings. Reid Morgan, Luis Curvelo and Peyton Alford tossed a scoreless inning of relief each to complete the shutout.
Aeverson Arteaga had four hits and Damon Dues added three hits for Eugene (52-51, 18-19).
