Archbishop Murphy maintains perfect record

YAKIMA – South Whidbey won its first two matches in the 2A state tournament Friday at the SunDome and will play Chelan in the semifinals today.

The Falcons defeated Forks 3-1 in the first round and topped Ephrata 3-0 in the quarterfinals.

King’s won its first-round match in the 1A tournament and played in the quarterfinals late Friday. The Knights beat Toutle Lake 3-0.

Coupeville lost its first-round match 3-1 to Columbia (Burbank) and faced Toutle Lake in a loser-out consolation match late Friday.

In the B tournament, Darrington lost its first-round match 3-1 to Tekoa-Oakesdale, but came from behind to beat Willapa Valley 3-2 in the first round of consolation. The Loggers were within a point of elimination at 24-21 in the third game when they began their comeback.

Shoreline Christian lost 3-0 to Pomeroy and met LaSalle in consolsation play.
