Minnesota forward Seimone Augustus and Conneciticut center Tina Charles have been named the WNBA’s Western Conference and Eastern Conference Players of the Week respectively for games played between Aug. 1 and Aug. 7.
Augustus led the Minnesota Lynx to a 3-0 record in the week scoring 16.7 points per game and grabbing 4.7 rebounds per contest. For the season, Augustus, who was named the WNBA’s Player of the Month for July, is averaging 16.4 points per game.
Charles led the Connecticut Sun to a 2-1 record, registering three straight double-doubles. For the season, Charles is averaging 18.1 points per game and 10.9 rebounds. She leads the WNBA in rebounding and double-doubles.
