I’m back at Cypress Mountain this afternoon for the men’s snowboard cross. With four racers at a time going down a course covered in jumps, bumps and banked turns it’s sure to be a good time.
It will be hard for today, however, to top yesterday at this same mountain, where we saw Alexandre Bilodeau become the first Canadian to ever win gold on home soil. It was quite a scene up here last night.
Unfortutely last night’s mogul competition did not go nearly as well for Cle Elum’s Patrick Deneen, who crashed on his final run.
It’s also definitely worth noting that the men’s downhill went off today, two days later than planned. For those of you wanting to wait until tonight to find out STOP READING NOW.
But if you know already or want to know, I can tell you Bode Miller, he of the major letdown in Torino, earned bronze in his first event of these Olympics. Switzerland’s Didier Defago won gold, and Norway’s Aksel Lund Svindal took the silver.
