Ryan Benzel, a teaching pro at Marysville’s Battle Creek Golf Course, shot a 2-under-par 70 during the second round of the Oregon Open Invitational and is four shots off the lead heading into today’s final round at Brasada Ranch in Powell Butte, Ore.
Benzel, who is tied for fifth, has a two-day total of 8-under 136. He trails second-round co-leaders Brian Nosler and amateur Brandon Taylor, who are at 12-under 132.
Taylor tied for the day’s low round with a 64.
