WORLEY, Idaho — Ryan Benzel of Lynnwood won a sudden-death playoff over Jason Pitt of Chewelah Golf and Country Club and Corey Prugh of Spokane’s Manito G&CC to claim the Pacific Northwest PGA Professional Championship on Thursday at Circling Raven Golf Club.
Benzel, the second-round leader, opened the third and final round with three straight birdies. He finished the final round with a 5-under-par 67 and a tournament total of 14-under 202.
Pitt had the low round of the day at 8-under 64.
Benzel, who received the first-place prize of $8,650, and the next top seven finishers advance to the 46th PGA Professional National Championship on June 23-26, 2013, at Sunriver Resort.
