HILLSBORO, Ore. — The Hillsboro Hops broke open a tied game with six runs in the bottom of the seventh inning and raced to an 8-2 win over the Everett AquaSox on Wednesday night.
The Hops’ big inning came courtesy of a bases-loaded walk, a sacrifice fly, a fielder’s choice, an error, a run-scoring single and an RBI groundout.
Spencer Packard went 2-for-3 with an RBI and Noelvi Marte went 1-for-4 with an RBI as the AquaSox’s offense was limited to just four hits.
Tim Elliott and Fred Villarreal combined to toss six innings for Everett (2-2) and allowed just two earned runs while striking out six and walking two.
Cam Coursey went 2-for-3 with a double and two walks for Hillsboro (2-3).
