Big late innings sink Frogs in loss to Canadians

Everett allows four runs in both the seventh and eighth innings in a 10-4 loss to Vancouver.

EVERETT — Trailing by two runs after six innings, the Vancouver Canadians scored fours runs in the seventh and four more in the eighth to turn a deficit into a 10-4 win over the Everett AquaSox on Wednesday night at Funko Field.

Both big Vancouver innings were aided by AquaSox errors. A wild pitch from Ben Onyshko allowed a run to score in the seventh and a throwing error by right-fielder Kennie Taylor let home another run in the eighth.

Taylor did, however, have a strong night at the plate. The 24-year-old went 3-for-3 with a home run and three runs batted in and raised his average to .389 since being promoted to Everett (53-31). Dariel Gomez had two hits, including a solo home run, and Victor Labrada added two base hits for the AquaSox.

In his first start since joining Everett from Double-A Arkansas, Adam Hill allowed two runs, one earned, on six hits in 4.2 innings. Hill walked three and struck out six.

Sebastian Espino and Philip Clarke each drove in three runs and Orelvis Martinez hit a solo home run for Vancouver (38-48).
