Coaching staff

KEVIN CONSTANTINE

Head coach

The 55-year-old from International Falls, Minnesota, is entering the second season of his second stint as Everett’s head coach. He also was the first coach in franchise history from 2003-07. Last season, in his return to Everett, Constantine guided the Tips to a 39-23-7-3 record and a fifth-place finish in the WHL’s Western Conference.

Constantine was enormously successful during his first stint as Everett’s head coach. During his four seasons the Tips went 162-97-20-9, winning three U.S. Division championships, one Western Conference championship, and the 2007 Scotty Munro Trophy for the league’s best record. In 2004 he received the Dunc McCallum Memorial Trophy as the WHL Coach of the Year for guiding the expansion Tips to the WHL finals.

Constantine also has a wealth of coaching experience at the professional level. He spent seven seasons coaching in the NHL with the San Jose Sharks, Pittsburgh Penguins and New Jersey Devils from 1993-2002, compiling a 161-150-66 record. Prior to returning to Everett he spent three seasons coaching pro teams in Europe.

MITCH LOVE

Assistant coach

The 30-year-old from Quesnel, B.C., is entering his fourth season as an assistant with Everett. He is in charge of Everett’s defense.

Love became a beloved figure in Everett for his exploits as a Silvertips player from 2003-05, serving as team captain during the 2004-05 season. He went on to play professionally in the minors for six seasons before returning to Everett to join the coaching staff.

BRENNAN SONNE

Assistant coach

The 27-year-old from Maple Ridge, B.C., begins his first season as an assistant with Everett. He helps with Everett’s forwards.

Sonne is another former Everett player, having played in parts of three seasons for Everett from 2005-07. He continued his playing career at the University of British Columbia, then began his coaching career at the Meco Hockey Academy in Hong Kong last year.
