Bluhm leads Meadowdale soccer team to win

EDMONDS – Meadowdale made sure to spread the wealth on senior night.

Six players had goals or assists, and everyone on the team played in the Mavericks’ Western Conference South victory over Lynnwood. Goalkeeper Ryan Bluhm recorded his seventh shutout in 15 games, but the pressure was usually on the other end of the field. Meadowdale outshot the winless Royals 29-7.

“Our shots-to-goals ratio was pretty good tonight,” Meadowdale coach Darrell Hamilton said after the game. “Everyone out there played well.”

Lamar Anderson scored twice, and Eric Marty had a goal and two assists.

Meadowdale had hoped to be in position to earn a share of the Wesco title with a win Saturday, but Thursday’s loss to Mariner eliminated them from contention. Still, Hamilton is encouraged by his team’s late season play and chances to advance. Along with Saturday’s win, Meadowdale tied nationally heralded Jackson last Tuesday.

“We feel very good about how we’re playing. We still have a great chance at making state, so that’s what we’re shooting for,” he said.
