ATLANTA — The Braves called up pitcher Jo-Jo Reyes and optioned infielder Brent Lillibridge to Class AAA Richmond on Saturday.
Lillibridge, who played at Jackson High School and the University of Washington, was 0-for-8 and drove in a run in his week with the team.
The left-handed Reyes made his first start Saturday night against the Reds. He got the start in place of John Smoltz, who was placed on the disabled list because of a severely inflamed biceps tendon and inflammation of the rotator cuff of his right shoulder.
Reyes went 2-2 with a 6.22 ERA in 11 appearances — including 10 starts — as a rookie last season.
