BASEBALL/SOFTBALL
• Life Unlimited Sports and Rec is offering Men’s and Coed Softball Leagues in Monroe. Play begins May 15. The team fees are $395 for the men’s league and $295 for the women’s league. For more information, call Nathan Waltman at 360-794-6467.

•A Cal Ripken Sr. Baseball Tournament is scheduled for May 14-15 at the Everett Boys and Girls Club. The tournament is for teams in the 12-year-old division. For more information, call CJ Freeman at 360-435-4442.

•The Ashley K. Aven Foundation Wiffleball Tournament is scheduled for 11 a.m. on May 22 at Meadowdale High School. The tournament and potluck honors former Meadowdale softball player Ashley Aven, who died last summer after a long battle with leukemia. Proceeds benefit the Ashley K Aven Foundation.

GOLF
•The Meadowdale High School Sports Booster Golf Tournament is scheduled for 8 a.m. on May 15 at Harbour Pointe Golf Club in Mukilteo. Individuals and foursomes are invited to participate. Hole sponsors also are needed. For more information, contact Meadowdale High School golf coach Josh Knowles at knowlesj@edmonds.wednet.edu.

•The Lakewood High School Cougar Classic Golf Tournament is scheduled for May 22 at Cedarcrest Golf Course in Marysville. The entry fee is $260 for a four-person team. RUNNING
•The Heroes Half Marathon and 10K is scheduled for 7 a.m. on May 8 in Everett. The races, which start at the Port Gardner Landing (1720 W. Marine View Dr.), follow a closed highway from Everett to Marysville and back. The costs are $75 for the marathon and $45 for the 10K. Proceeds from the event benefit St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. For more information, visit www.heroeshalf.com.
