WEST FARGO, N.D. — Help may be on the way for the Red River Valley Speedway.
Businessman Danny Schatz would like to the lease the struggling track from the Red River Valley Fair Association. Schatz says he’s prepared to lease the track for five years and make significant improvements.
The fair board said earlier that the half-mile track has not been profitable and the board has discussed leasing it.
Schatz is the owner of truck stops in Fargo and Minot and the father of World of Outlaws sprint car driver Donny Schatz.
Danny Schatz says he would like to change speedway race nights from Fridays to Wednesdays to draw more people who head to area lakes for the weekend.
