Pete Carroll, like all Seahawks fans, is concerned with his team’s inability to run the ball well in its first three preseason games. What Carroll isn’t too worried about, however, is the fact that he has three running backs battling for the job with no clear favorite established.
“It gets frustrating sometimes for those guys,” he said. “I’ve been through that before, but I’m not really worried about that. I want them to be hungry, to get out their and fight for their snaps and give everything that they have.”
Carroll said a clear picture of his running back situation isn’t necessary for now.
“It would be nice if it did, but it doesn’t matter to me if it hasn’t,” he said. “I don’t think we’ve had enough success running the football to really allow the guys to distinguish themselves… Right now these guys are all battling and they’re all really good football players.”
“In my experience it doesn’t matter. It’s getting the best guy on the field and making the right choice at game time as things unfold for you. And it isn’t always the same guy.”
