WENATCHEE – The Cedarcrest baseball team had a hard time getting hits when it counted and fell to Selah 3-0 in the semifinals of the 2A state tournament at Paul Thomas Field in Wenatchee.
“They got hits with runners on base,” Cedarcrest head coach Scott Goldsberry said of the difference in the game.
Both teams had six hits, but the Red Wolves could not get a base hit with runners in scoring position and as a result were held scoreless.
Dakota Bunce went 2-for-3 to lead Cedarcrest’s offense, which was shut out for the first time since a game against Granite Falls on April 4.
Travis Cook pitched the entire game for the Red Wolves, striking out seven.
Cedarcrest will face Hockinson today at 1 p.m. in the third-place game.
