The head coach and general manager of the Washington Mystics, Trudi Lacey announced on Wednesday that forward Monique Currie will return to the lineup against the Atlanta Dream on Sept. 1.
Currie has missed the entire 2011 season after recovering from ACL surgery.
Currie will sit out the following night in the team’s tail-end of back-to-back games, but will be available for the remainder of the season. Currie suffered the injury while playing in Turkey during the offseason. Last season, Currie averaged 14.1 points and 4.8 rebounds per game for the Mystics.
