PUYALLUP – The Darrington girls basketball team defeated Life Christian 51-31 in a loser-out game in the Tri-District 2B Tournament Monday night.
The Loggers outscored the Eagles 35-12 in the first half to take a commanding lead.
“Life Christian didn’t get very many good looks (at the basket), especially in the first half,” Darrington head coach Ben Bryson said.
The Loggers held the Eagles top two scorers – Brittany Cleary and Celena Johnson – to a total of seven points in the game.
Kristy Turner led the Loggers with 17 points and teammate Caitlin Pendergrass added 10.
Andriana VanderGriend led the Eagles with 10.
Darrington plays Shoreline Christian in a loser-out/winner-to-state game at 3 p.m. Friday at Chief Leschi High School in Puyallup.
