On Tuesday Everett High School will host the second annual Dig for the Cure volleyball match.
Everett will play host to cross-town rival Cascade in the 7 p.m. contest, which is a fundraiser for prostate cancer research and awareness. Proceeds will benefit the Prostate Cancer Foundation with assistance from Athletes for a Cure.
Everett and Cascade athletes will wear blue jerseys in honor of the cause. Fans can buy commemorative T-shirts at the door for $10, with $7 going to the Prostate Cancer Foundation. Or you can pre-order a shirt (a limited supply will be available Tuesday) by calling Everett High treasurer Jackie Walsh at 425-385-4417.
Last year the inaugural Dig for the Cure match was at Cascade High. It benefited breast cancer research.
About 400 fans watched Everett beat Cascade 3-0. The event raised around $3,000.
