PASCO — Taylor Dollard tossed seven strong innings in his High-A debut and the Everett AquaSox continued their dominance of Tri-City with a 9-3 win over the Dust Devils in Sunday night’s series finale at Gesa Stadium.
Dollard, the Seattle Mariners’ 2020 fifth-round draft pick, allowed just two earned runs, one unearned run and four hits in his first outing with the AquaSox since being promoted from Low-A Modesto. The Cal Poly product struck out nine batters and walked none.
Tyler Keenan hit a three-run homer in the first inning to give Everett (29-17) an early lead. Zach DeLoach and Patrick Frick added run-scoring singles in the second inning, and Keenan drove in another run on a fourth-inning double to make it 6-0.
Keenan finished 2-for-4 with a home run, a double and four RBIs. Frick went 3-for-4 with an RBI. Austin Shenton was 2-for-4 with two doubles.
Every batter in the AquaSox lineup had at least one hit. Everett finished with 13 hits.
The AquaSox won five of six games in the series to improve to 11-1 this season against Tri-City, which is sitting in last place in the six-team High-A West. Everett rolled to a six-game sweep of the Dust Devils (15-32) last month at Funko Field.
The AquaSox return home to Funko Field on Tuesday night for a six-game series against the Vancouver Canadians.
