Ducks and Huskies pregame

Less than an hour until kickoff here at Autzen Stadium. Not sure how the weather is holding up back in Washington, but we’ve got a pretty nice evening here with temperatures in the upper 60s (maybe low 70s, not positive) and a pretty good breeze.

Based on a walk around the parking lots and through campus, it looks like UW fans traveled pretty well down here, and I was surprise to see that that the Husky and Duck fans seemed to be getting along just fine outside the stadium other than a few harmless taunts. I even saw a few tailgate parties that were a mix of purple and Green. I’m sure things will get a little nastier once we get closer to game time.

Oh wait, there we go. A few UW kickers and punters just got on the field, prompting a chant from the Oregon Student section that I can’t type in this blog. Let’s just say it sounds like “duck the Huskies” but they’re not saying duck. Apparently they haven’t made it to page two of their programs yet where it say in the code of conduct that fans are to refrain from disruptive behavior, including foul language. I’m sure that chant will end once they see that… Or not. There it goes again as a few more Huskies, including Jake Locker, came onto the field.

Also of note, travel rosters are out, so we now know who made the trip.

There are nine 10 true freshman here: Chris Polk, Cody Bruns, Devin Aguilar, Jermaine Kearse, David Freeman, Alameda Ta’amu, Kavario Middleton, Jordan Polk, Everrette Thompson and Senio Kelemete.

Should be fun night in Eugene. Check back in during the game for updates and random commentary.

Oh, and for those interested in the always fun game of “what uniforms are the Ducks wearing today?” They’re going with an all green look, which, by Oregon standards, looks all right. Of course, being Oregon, there are about six different shades of green in those all-green unis.
