Edmonds Community College has announced the hiring of head coaches for its baseball and volleyball teams.
Scott Kelly is the Tritons’ new baseball coach, replacing Brad Ditter, who coached the team for five seasons. Kelly, who played at Green River CC in 1996-97, spent four seasons (2005-08) as the head coach at Missouri Valley College. He later worked as a pitching coach at Green River CC, St. Martin’s College and Kentlake High School.
“(Kelly) knows the NWAACC (Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges), he has years of experience as a head coach and he understands the high expectations at Edmonds,” Tritons athletic director Jorge de la Torre said. “With his knowledge of baseball in the Northwest, I have confidence that Scott will field teams that will compete for titles and send players to the next level.”
Jason Davis has been Edmonds CC’s assistant volleyball coach the past two seasons. He is also the head coach of Mukilteo’s Northend Inferno Volleyball Club.
“After speaking with (previous head coach) Danielle Orong and with members of the volleyball team, it was obvious that Jason was the clear choice to take over the program,” de la Torre said. “His goal is to build Edmonds into a power in the NWAACC North.”
