I’m just working off the game sheet from the Tri-City Preseason Tournament, which I received via e-mail, and hopefully I’m reading the handwriting correctly. Anyway, Paul Van de Velde scored a hat trick for Everett, with Corey Tyrell also scoring and Dale Hunt adding an empty netter. Shane Harper dished out three assists and Kent Simpson went the distance in goal, making 28 saves. Everett led 3-0 going into the final five minutes of the game before the teams traded goals down the stretch. Spokane never got closer than two goals, though the Chiefs outshot the Tips 30-20. Everett is now 3-1 in the preseason going into tomorrow afternoon’s game against Lethbridge, which is also in Kennewick.
Everett’s lineup: Dailey, Van de Velde, Harper, Dunstall, Hunt, Winquist, Elynuik, White, Parker, McCrea, McGrath, Tyrell, de la Lande, Murray, Theriau, Minville, McDermott, Sohor, Simpson, Siemens.
Scratches: Iwanski, Poulter, Scherger.
At NHL camps: Maxwell, Froese, Tochkin, Abney, Gudas, Rissanen, Heemskerk.
