Everett comes back to beat Lynnwood

LYNNWOOD — The Everett Seagulls came back from a one-game deficit to capture the Western Conference South Division volleyball match 19-25, 25-9, 25-14, 25-17 over host Lynnwood.

Katelyn Price and Rachel Crossen each had eight kills and teammate Elana Olson hit the floor, recording 25 digs for the Seagulls.

With the victory Everett stayed tied for first in the division standings, improving to 3-0 in league play and 6-1 overall.

Molly Hunsinger (10 kills and 12 digs) and Brittni Thoreson (six kills and 11 digs) paced Lynnwood (1-2, 3-5).

Meadowdale 3, Shorewood 2: At Shoreline, Maggie Brewe had 17 kills and Lindi Tellesson added 14 kills as Meadowdale held off Shorewood 25-11, 27-25, 18-25, 20-25, 15-11 in the Wesco South match. Jarette Ruiz added 21 digs and Ashlee Ross had 18 assists and 15 aces for Meadowdale (2-1 league, 5-5 overall). Shorewood (0-3, 1-7) was led by Erica Little, who had 18 kills and three aces; Leah March, who had 16 assists, and Stephanie West, who had 11 digs.

Kamiak 3, Mariner 0: At Everett, Alison Swanson had 17 assists and Stephanie Lau added 15 kills to lead Kamiak (3-0 league, 7-1 overall) to its third straight Wesco South victory. Kamiak won, 25-13, 25-14, 25-18. Heather Berg had seven kills and four blocks for Mariner (0-3, 2-5).

Shorecrest 3, Mountlake Terrace 0: At Mountlake Terrace, Lauren Herold had 26 assists, seven service aces and nine digs to lead Shorecrest to a 25-13, 25-18, 25-12 Wesco South win. Also for Shorecrest (3-0 league, 7-1 overall), Emily Gould had six kills, Becky Scherer had 11 kills and Emily Domingo had seven digs and two aces. Sam Richardson had six kills, Jessica Schrock had five kills and Ashley Grover had seven kills and three aces for Mountlake Terrace (0-3, 0-7).

Edmonds-Woodway 3, Jackson 1: At Everett, Edmonds-Woodway (3-0, 8-0) remained perfect behind 18 kills from Tiana Roma and Katie Trew’s 16 digs and 15-for-15 serving in the Warriors’ 25-14, 13-25, 25-22, 25-20 Wesco South victory. Ashley Allen recorded 16 kills and Meghan Craig had 24 assists for Jackson (0-3, 3-5).

Marysville-Pilchuck 3, Monroe 0: At Monroe, Korissa Clevish had 34 assists and three service aces, Micaela Parker had 10 kills and two aces and Nikole Thompson had nine kills and 11 digs to lead M-P (3-0 league, 7-1 overall) to the Wesco North win. Whitney Mueller had seven kills and Brittany Rose had 15 assists for Monroe (1-2, 4-4).

Oak Harbor 3, Arlington 1: At Oak Harbor, Heidi McNeill had 16 kills and four blocks to lead Oak Harbor (2-1 in league, 5-4 overall) to the 25-19, 18-25, 25-19, 25-23 Wesco North victory. Arlington (0-3, 1-7) was led by Maureen Pepper with 10 kills and three aces.

Snohomish 3, Stanwood 0: At Stanwood, Courtney Schneider had 16 kills and 10 digs as Snohomish (3-0 league, 8-1 overall) preserved its unbeaten Wesco North record with a 25-18, 25-23, 25-17 victory over Stanwood (0-2, 1-6).

Mount Vernon 3, Lake Stevens 1: At Mount Vernon, Lauren Vermulm (15 kills, 10 blocks), Miriam Taylor (36 assists) and Laura Peterson (18 kills, six blocks) led Mount Vernon (2-1 league, 5-3 overall) to a 26-24, 11-25, 26-24, 25-19 Wesco North victory. Jamie Bellar recorded 20 kills and four digs for Lake Stevens (0-2, 3-5).

Nooksack Valley 3, Granite Falls 0: At Granite Falls, Nooksack Valley (1-2 in league, 3-4 overall) won the North Cascades match 25-13, 26-24, 25-12. Nichole Megard led Granite Falls (1-1, 2-6) with six kills.

Meridian 3, South Whidbey 0: At Meridian, in a battle between teams tied for first in the North Cascades Conference, Meridian prevailed 25-23, 25-17, 25-20. Meridian improved to 3-0 in league, 6-1 overall. South Whidbey (2-1, 7-2) was led by Brianna Hussey, who had six kills and 18 assists. Katy McGillen added eight kills and 14 digs and Amy Brown had 15 digs for the Falcons.

Mount Baker 3, Lakewood 1: At Deming, Sam Phillips had 27 assists, four kills and three aces to help lead Mount Baker (1-2 in league, 3-5 overall) to a 25-20, 25-13, 23-25, 25-14 North Cascades victory. Lakewood fell to 0-2, 4-5.
