The Everett Rowing Association’s men’s four placed fifth in the championship final Sunday on the closing day of competition at the USRowing Youth National Championships in Oakridge, Tenn.
Everett was timed in 6 minutes, 59.06 seconds over the 2,000-meter course on Melton Lake, exactly 16 seconds behind the winning boat from the St. Louis Rowing Club.
The Everett rowers included David Shur (Jackson High School), Eric Engel (Snohomish), Griffin Siadek (Lake Stevens), Beau Skalley (Archbishop Murphy) and coxswain Amber Cary (Archbishop Murphy).
Also Sunday, Everett’s women’s lightweight eight finished sixth in the B final with a time of 7:32.73.
Everett’s third boat, the men’s lightweight eight, was second in the C final in 6:17.37.
