The Silvertips had their nine-game winning streak ended on the final day of the regular season, falling 5-4 in a shootout at Portland. That was the team’s longest winning streak since it won 14 straight during a perfect January in 2010. And win No. 9 of the 2010 winning streak also happened to be a classic Everett-Seattle moment.
The Tips, playing at home, squandered a two-goal lead as the T-birds fought back to force overtime. But a moment of individual brilliance by Shane Harper kept Everett’s winning streak alive. Note that the hit Harper took from teammate Zack Dailey during the resulting celebration may have been the hardest Harper took all season.
