Carter Hart earned his first CHL Goaltender of the Week nomination of the season, the WHL announced Monday.
The CHL winner will be announced Tuesday.
Hart, a native of Sherwood Park, Alberta, was 2-1-0-0 in three games last week with a 1.33 goals against average and a .944 save percentage. He had 23 saves and recorded his third shutout of the season in Everett’s 4-0 win over Swift Current Saturday and added 15 saves in a 5-2 win over Spokane Friday. The 17-year-old also stopped 29 shots in Everett’s 3-0 loss at Spokane last Friday.
In 48 WHL regular-season appearances Hart is 28-11-2-5 with seven shutouts. He currently leads the league in both GAA and is tied in shutouts and save percentage (.934) this season.
Hart was named the CHL Goaltender of the Week on March 8 of last season.
Everett (10-5-0-1, 21 points) is on the road all week as it makes its first swing through the Central Division. The Tips open the road trip Tuesday against Kootenay in Cranbrook, B.C.
