The Everett Silvertips announced their 2016-17 regular-season schedule on Monday.
The Silvertips, who will be entering their 14th season in the Western Hockey League, open with a home-and-home series against the Vancouver Giants. The series begins at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 23, in Langley, British Columbia, and concludes the following evening at Xfinity Arena in Everett.
The home regular-season finale is Saturday, March 18, against the Victoria Royals. The regular season concludes Sunday, March 19, with a road game against Tri-City.
The season’s first matchup against the Seattle Thunderbirds, the team the Silvertips lost to in the second round of the playoffs this past season, takes place Saturday, Oct. 15, at home. The Silvertips’ annual “Pink the Rink” event is scheduled for that night.
Other regular-season highlights include a matchup with the Brandon Wheat Kings, last season’s WHL champions, on Friday, Feb. 18, on the road. Everett also has a special 2:05 p.m. Martin Luther King Jr. Day game against the Kelowna Rockets scheduled for Monday, Jan. 16.
