The Silvertips offense, which went missing in Games 3 and 4 in Spokane, re-emerged Friday night at the Everett Events Center. Kyle Beach got off the schnide with a pair of goals, and Peter Mueller was back to his game-controlling ways with a goal and an assist. The Tips also got the bounces that eluded them in their two losses in Spokane. Some thoughts:
– This game was crucial for Everett. The Tips would have been in dire straits going to Spokane down 3-2. In six games in Spokane, regular season and playoffs, Everett has won just once. They’ll want to make it twice on Sunday to avoid the pressure of a Game 7.
– Interesting to see call-up Jordan Mistelbacher not only preferred to Shane Harper in Everett’s lineup, but also playing on Mueller’s line. Mistelbacher may not have much experience, but he’s got decent size and so far has shown well, nearly scoring in each of the last two games.
– Where’s Michael Grabner? Spokane’s star right wing, known for his blistering speed, has been bottled up by Everett’s defense. He has no goals and just one assist in the five games. Spokane needs Grabner to produce if it’s to win this series.
– How well is Jonathan Harty playing? The Everett defenseman has been rock steady the past few games.
