Snohomish County spokesman Christopher Schwarzen informed me by email on Monday that Johnson Productions, the company holding the motorsports operations contract at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe, Wash., has cleared the outstanding 2008 and 2009 lease balances owed to the county.
An initial payment was made on Tuesday, March 24, and the remainder was paid on Friday, March 27. It was previously reported in The Herald that Johnson Productions owed the county around $32,000. Of that, $28,000 is from a missed lease payment in October 2008 and the remainder is for back rent on office space leased from the county.
Additionally, The Herald learned that Johnson Productions owed the county a little more than $6,600 for phone service in the company’s speedway offices, which are rented from the county. Schwarzen said Johnson Productions made a payment of $4,600 to the county toward its phone bill on March 24.
