The Teflon Tiger has all of a sudden become a magnet for trouble.
After weeks of one woman after another coming forward to admit an affair with Tiger Woods, the world’s No. 1 golfer has now been linked to a doctor recently arrested for possessing performance-enhancing drugs.
Gulp.
The New York Times is reporting a Canadian doctor who treated Woods is suspected of providing athletes with PEDs, according to several people briefed on the FBI inquiry.
In a story posted on its Web site on Monday night, the newspaper reports Dr. Anthony Galea, who also treated swimmer Dara Torres and NFL players, was found with human growth hormone and Actovegin, a drug extracted from calf’s blood, in his bag at the U.S.-Canada border in late September.
When reached for comment, Jose Canseco only said: “I told you so.”
Earlier in the day Swiss watch maker Tag Heuer said it would stand by its man. Later, though, the company said it would spend the next few weeks “assessing its relationship” with Woods.
Because nothing says Swiss precision like a philandering athlete.
