Hobbyists like their vanity plates, and that’s certainly true for fly fishers.
The parking lot of the Fly Fishing Fair last weekend put on in Ellensburg by the Federation of Fly Fishers sported quite a few license plates with the driver’s favorite hobby.
Aaron Reimer, who loves spey casting and teaches it regularly on the Snoqualmie River at Fall City, was there with his SPEYBUM plate.
Norvise’s Norm Norlander was there with NORVISE. Henry Hoffman, who for years sold superior feathers to fly tying, was there with his HACKLE plates. There was also a SPEYGUY AND a FLYTIER.
I suspect there was more, but I didn’t start looking until the fair was almost over on Saturday night.
