Scott Knight, former head baseball coach at Stanwood High School, has been selected as the American Baseball Coaches Association Region 7 Coach of the Year. Region 7 includes Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Colorado, Nevada, and Utah.
Knight, now an assistant coach at Sedro-Woolley High, is one of eight finalists for National Coach of the Year. The winner will be announced this winter.
Knight has coached baseball in Washington for 35 years, including 26 years as a head coach. He has been involved with USA Baseball for the last six years and was an assistant coach for the Junior National Team in the 2006 18-and-under World Championships in Cuba.
